WEARABLES NEED TO PIVOT TO HEALTH OUTCOMES
Picture
Much attention has been paid to wearables being used to help individuals track their health and wellness. However, there hasn’t been much success in making wearables contribute to measurable and meaningful health outcomes. They are currently just another forgettable gadget.

A different perspective and approach is needed.

FIVE REASONS WHY BIOSENSORS ARE NOT BEING USED IN CLINICAL RESEARCH
Picture
In survey after survey in the clinical trials industry, Vaxa has found that over 95% of Principal Investigators and their teams agree that biosensors are either very or exceedingly useful. Additionally, in Vaxa’s research with senior clinical research executives, no one disagrees that the potential of biosensors in clinical research is tremendous.

There are five (5) reasons contributing to this impasse.

STAKEHOLDER CONSIDERATIONS FOR WEARABLES IN CLINICAL TRIALS
Picture
To date, the discussion on wearables in clinical trials has been more on the product end of the spectrum. The main reason being that the capabilities of today's wearables are not quite where the drug industry wants it to be. Additionally, almost all wearable companies are focused on the consumer health and wellness segment where the product demands are less stringent than in the scientific environment of clinical trials.

What are the options for moving forward?

CAN WEARABLES BECOME AS INDISPENSABLE AS SMARTPHONES?
Picture
Many runners and fitness enthusiasts have been quick to embrace wearable wireless tracking devices for measuring physical activity and calories burned. Now, a growing number of physicians are studying whether such "wearables" can improve patients' health by spurring people to get moving.

But, do wearable trackers have what it takes to become as indispensable as smartphones?

MEGATRENDS - THE NEXT BILLIONS
Picture
In this series of articles, Vaxa will explore the work we have been doing on MegaTRENDS, their implications, their pan-industry impact and the growth opportunities they create--in the short and long term.

In our minds, MegaTRENDS are forces that are creating fundamental shifts in how individuals, groups, companies, industries, and governments behave and operate. Just think of the ripple effect of the ending of the cold war, the transformational effect of technology, and how aging populations have effected global economics.

CHANNELS - WHAT DRIVES PARTNER PERFORMANCE AND HOW TO FIX IT
Picture
This performance gap is a problem that involves three stakeholders--the OEM, the channel partner, and the customer. Leaving one out will continue the status quo and everyone suffers because the customer will be left with resellers who sees every problem as a nail.

The average reseller is struggling to understand how to find the Value in Value Added Reseller because of discontinuities like the cloud, the pervasiveness of product information, customers' focus on solve their business issues, and the commoditization of hardware and even software.

MegaTrends - we will be exploring the information technology big plays as population demographics continue to change.

Technology - as activity trackers evolve and become more useful, we will look at their role in population health management.

Sales Channel - we will be running a survey to determine what channel partners most need from vendors and reporting back on those findings.
