More than a Bandaid

Our client, a world leading manufacturer of industrial gases, adhesives, and plastics had aggressive growth goals to increase top line growth by double digits in three years. One avenue was to leverage as much of its technology assets into other adjacent segments of industries it already had a presence—e.g., healthcare.

Up until this time, the effaciacy of the products in the woundcare market had not changed for several decades. This presented an opportunity to take a hard look at the value gaps in that market, in terms of quality and breadth of products, the cost of manufacturing, and the ability of the products to reduce healing times. That is, to create some level of market disruption.

Vaxa researched and segmented the woundcare market, cateogorized soluitions by their application and market size, conducted primary research to identify the solutions value gaps, and identified the locations of where the most improvement and disruption was possible relative to medicinal effaciacy, cost, and addressable opportunity.

Working with the client team, we built the business case to enter two of five segments, recommended and facilitated contact with three potential alliances, and showed how the make, partner or buy model can change over time.
