Client Assignment · Semiconductors · Technology
A silicon technology with breakthrough potential. Sitting idle.
A global semiconductor company with a corporate mandate to find alternative revenue streams from the existing IP portfolio. The technology was capable.
The question was where and how it could transform a market.

CLIENT
Global semiconductor company
OUTCOME
Two new markets identified and ecosystem seeded.
THE CHALLENGE
Idle IP with no commercial application and no path to market.
A global semiconductor company had developed silicon display technology with significant potential but no identified commercial application. The corporate mandate was clear: find alternative revenue streams from the existing IP portfolio.
The technology was capable of transforming a market — the question was which market, and how.
What Made This Different
Thought leader panels to find the insight the market had not yet formed.
The standard approach to IP monetization is to scan adjacent markets and apply the technology to the nearest fit.
Vaxa's approach was different — bring together the people who see further and let the conversation surface the non-obvious application.
WHAT vaxa DID
Panels, validation, and ecosystem — from idle IP to two commercial markets.
01
IP Assessment & Opportunity Framing
Assessed the silicon display technology against the landscape of emerging display markets — identifying where the technology's specific capabilities could create a step-change rather than an incremental improvement.
02
Thought Leader & Visionary Panels
Designed and ran structured panels bringing together display technology experts, industry strategists, financial services technology leaders, and out-of-home advertising specialists. The panels were designed to surface non-consensus views on where digital displays were heading — and where the open ground still existed.
03
Market Validation
Validated two high-priority opportunities identified through the panels: high-density display applications for financial services trading environments, and large-format digital billboard advertising. Primary research confirmed commercial viability for both.
04
Alliance Ecosystem Design
Identified and mapped the alliance partners needed to pursue both opportunities — technology integrators, content platforms, installation networks, and commercial operators. Designed the ecosystem architecture and began seeding the key relationships.
The Outcome
Two markets. One technology. A commercial trajectory where none existed.
01
Financial services display market identified and validated
High-density display technology for financial services trading environments — a market that needed to pack more data onto limited screen real estate and had no credible technology solution.
02
Digital billboard market identified and validated
Large-format digital highway billboard advertising — a market where no credible digital technology solution existed at the time. The silicon technology provided the capability to transform the outdoor advertising market.
03
Alliance ecosystem designed and seeded
The partner ecosystem required to pursue both markets identified, mapped, and initial relationships seeded. The commercial architecture for ecosystem engagement designed.
